July 23, 2021 - July 25, 2021
“While we are buoyed by the rollout of the vaccine and the growing number of individuals being inoculated, it appears that July will still be too early to safely hold an in-person event of the magnitude of Comic-Con,” San Diego Comic Convention said in a statement posted on its website.
“For this reason, we have made the challenging decision to postpone Comic-Con 2021 as an in-person gathering until our 2022 dates, and once again hold this year’s celebration as the free online Comic-Con@Home.”
Organized by San Diego Comic-Con organizers, Comic-Con@Home 2020 will feature a virtual comic con experience. @Home free badges are available for fans to print and wear at home if they so choose, but all events will be free for anyone to join online. Plans for Comic-Con@Home 2020 virtual convention include an online Exhibit Hall complete with everyone’s favorite exhibitors offering promotions, specials, and limited-edition products unique to the celebration. And like the in-person event, organizer promises exclusive panels and presentations about comics, gaming, television, film, and a wide variety of topics from publishers, studios, and more. “For the first time in our 50-year history, we are happy to welcome virtually anyone from around the globe,” SDCC spokesperson David Glanzer said in a statement.
All panels are available on SDCC’s official Youtube page.
