Aukey PC-LM1 Webcam with 1080p Resolution, Live Streaming & Stereo Microphone Review

Aukey is known for producing decent consumer grade chargers, cables, and USB hubs. The PC-LM1 brings the same quality to the webcam space. You get 1080p and 720p video streaming at 30fps, stereo sound, noise-reduction microphones, low-light environment support, and will work with basically any video streaming app on either Windows or Macs. In many ways, it’s a copy of Logitech’s popular C920 webcam from an aesthetic standpoint. At a MSRP of $59.99, it’s a great option for those looking to utilize webcam for work or home video conferencing.

The webcam is super simple to setup. All you have to do is plug it in. Your windows should automatically recognize the camera and you’re ready to go. Just open up Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom and you’re set. When the video is on, you should see a blue light lit up next to the camera lens. Your computer will also default to webcam’s microphone so you can also use it for audio only calls.

In our testing, we didn’t adjust any settings. But you could adjust the camera settings like brightness depending on your lighting in the video app that you’re using as the webcam doesn’t have an application to make the adjustments. The picture is good, not great, but definitely acceptable. Image is sharp without any blurriness. At around $50, this is a perfect home office or personal use camera for our ever changing connected world.
